Construction Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Manager with experience in overseeing large-scale infrastructure projects such as bridges, highways, utilities, and public works. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the entire construction process, ensuring the project meets all deadlines, stays within budget, and adheres to safety and quality standards. This role requires a deep understanding of infrastructure development and strong leadership and organizational skills.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning & Execution:

    • Lead and manage the planning and execution of infrastructure projects from inception to completion.
    • Develop and monitor detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, and resource allocations.
    • Work closely with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure designs are accurately implemented and specifications are met.
  • Site Management:

    • Oversee day-to-day site operations, ensuring construction activities adhere to schedules and work plans.
    • Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and on-site personnel to ensure project progress is aligned with targets.
    • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Budget & Financial Management:

    • Manage project budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring cost control measures are implemented.
    • Review and approve purchase orders, invoices, and contracts, ensuring financial accountability throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Prepare and present regular financial reports, including cost forecasting and budgeting adjustments.
  • Health, Safety & Regulatory Compliance:

    • Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental protocols in line with national and local regulations.
    • Conduct risk assessments and ensure appropriate mitigation measures are in place.
    • Ensure the project complies with all necessary legal, regulatory, and environmental standards.
  • Stakeholder & Client Relations:

    • Maintain clear and consistent communication with project stakeholders, including clients, regulatory agencies, local authorities, and the public.
    • Attend regular meetings with clients and stakeholders to provide progress updates, discuss project challenges, and resolve issues.
    • Ensure client satisfaction by delivering projects that meet or exceed expectations.
  • Team Leadership & Development:

    • Lead and manage construction teams, including site supervisors, engineers, laborers, and subcontractors.
    • Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members to enhance productivity and professional growth.
    • Foster a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of [X] years of experience managing large infrastructure projects (bridges, highways, utilities, public works).
  • In-depth understanding of construction processes, materials, and equipment relevant to infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, AutoCAD) and budgeting software.
  • Strong knowledge of local building codes, environmental regulations, and safety standards.
